SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 27 (San Francisco News Online) — NVIDIA on June 22 introduced NVIDIA Halos for Robotics, a safety system the company said unifies AI compute, system software, sensor data, safety applications and inspection into one architecture for robotic systems and physical AI.

The company said the platform centers on NVIDIA IGX Thor and Holoscan Sensor Bridge for compute and sensor connectivity, NVIDIA Halos OS for software safety functions, and the NVIDIA Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab for inspection and certification preparation.

NVIDIA said the inspection lab is an ANAB-accredited program for functional and AI safety for physical AI. The company said it is designed to help partners prepare for third-party certification by bodies including TÜV Rheinland, UL Solutions, TÜV SÜD, exida, SGS and CertX.

The announcement adds another layer to NVIDIA’s robotics stack as companies look for ways to build safety into systems that combine machine learning, sensors and control software. NVIDIA said the architecture draws on its autonomous vehicle safety work.

The company did not disclose pricing in the announcement. It also did not say when the full system will be broadly available.
