DETROIT, June 22 (Our Michigan Times) — Chevrolet on June 16 introduced the next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500, saying the full-size pickup will be the “most powerful Silverado ever” and adding two new V8 engines to the lineup.

The company said the truck will offer next-generation 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8 engines, along with an enhanced 2.7-liter TurboMax and a Duramax 3.0-liter turbo-diesel. Chevrolet says the 2027 Silverado 1500 will continue to offer four powertrain options in all.

Chevrolet did not release horsepower, torque or fuel-economy figures in the announcement. The company said the 2027 Silverado 1500 has “the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine in its class,” but did not spell out the comparison set.

Inside, Chevrolet said every 2027 Silverado 1500 will come with a 16.3-inch center display and a 12.2-inch driver information center. ZR2 and High Country models will add an 11.5-inch front passenger screen, along with a head-up display and rear camera mirror.

Chevrolet said the truck will be offered in seven models: ZR2, High Country, Trail Boss, Silverado, Custom Trail Boss, Custom and WT. The company said the pickup is expected to go on sale later this year, with pricing to be released later in the year.
