WASHINGTON, June 25 (DC Times Online) — Consumers with soy allergies should check their freezers after federal regulators recalled nearly 5,800 pounds of frozen meatloaf meals because the allergen was not listed on the label.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service said June 18 that Power Plate Meals LLC recalled about 5,795 pounds of 13.3-ounce vacuum-sealed meals labeled “POWER PLATE MEALS MEATLOAF WITH GARLIC MASHED POTATOES.”

FSIS said the products carry use-by dates from June 25, 2026, through June 10, 2027, and the establishment number “217SEND” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

According to FSIS, the meals were produced between June 25, 2025, and June 10, 2026, and shipped to distributors in Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.

The agency said the recall began after a state inspector notified it that soy, a known allergen, had been left off the ingredients list. FSIS said there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions tied to the meals.

FSIS told consumers not to eat the recalled products and to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. The agency also warned that some of the meals may still be stored in home freezers.
