CHELMSFORD, Mass., July 11 (Nationwide Times) — IndyCar and iRacing Studios have announced a long-term licensing agreement to produce standalone IndyCar video games for PlayStation, Xbox and Steam, marking the series’ first dedicated title in more than two decades.
INDYCAR said the new game is planned for the second half of 2026 and will be built from the ground up by a dedicated development team using iRacing Studios’ enhanced Orontes engine. The series said the title will include a multilevel career mode, online multiplayer and licensed drivers from the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone.
The series also said real-world drivers and teams will help shape the game, including Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin.
INDYCAR said its existing relationship with iRacing will continue through the iRacing PC racing service, but as a separate product from the new standalone game.
