UNION, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 25 (Nationwide Times) — A Wendy’s in Union, South Carolina, is under scrutiny after police said three employees were charged in an alleged food-tampering case involving a drive-thru customer’s remade meal.

Fox News reported that the customer complained about her first order and asked for it to be redone. According to the police account summarized in the report, workers allegedly took the food from the trash, spat on it and then served it back.

Authorities charged Aaliyah Shuntai Sanders, Trinity Lashell Rice and Shadela Crystal Holley with tampering with a human drug product or food item, Fox News reported. The report said the three were arrested separately between June 16 and June 22.

Fox News also reported that a manager said the employees involved had been written up. Audacy, citing the Union Police Department, said the incident happened at the Wendy’s on North Duncan Bypass and that a third employee was disciplined by the restaurant.
