MIAMI, July 22 (Our Florida Times) — The FBI said Khalid Ahmed Satary, who was indicted in the Southern District of Florida, was arrested overseas and brought back to the United States in a case tied to an alleged $547 million Medicare fraud conspiracy.

Authorities accuse Satary of taking part in a scheme that billed Medicare for expensive genetic tests that were medically unnecessary between 2016 and 2019, using deceptive marketing, kickbacks and bribes to generate the claims.

The bureau placed Satary on its Most Wanted Fraudsters list and offered a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to his arrest and conviction.

FBI Director Kash Patel said the arrest was the third from the bureau’s new fraudsters list in five weeks.

The FBI said Satary was indicted in 2019 and that a federal arrest warrant followed after officials said he violated the conditions of his pretrial release in 2022.
