DEL RIO, Texas, Aug. 11 (Del Rio Online) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized 129.67 pounds of suspected cocaine from a vehicle at the Del Rio International Bridge on Aug. 4, 2026, and arrested the 29-year-old U.S. citizen who was driving, the agency said.

The seizure involved 49 packages concealed in the quarter panels of a 2013 Dodge Durango, CBP said. The agency estimated the suspected cocaine’s street value at $1,731,425.

The vehicle had entered the United States from Ciudad Acuña, Mexico, through the Del Rio Port of Entry. A CBP Office of Field Operations officer referred it for a more intensive inspection, including nonintrusive scanning technology, before officers searched the SUV, according to the agency.

CBP transferred the driver to Homeland Security Investigations special agents, who began a criminal investigation. The available information does not identify the man, any formal criminal charge, a court or a case number.
