CALHOUN COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 20 (Infinite Headlines) — The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said it arrested six people after a June 6 brawl at the 601 Sand Bar on the Congaree River in South Carolina, where officials said more than 20 people were involved and several were injured.

The sheriff’s office identified the arrested suspects as Brendan Bonds, Hunter Dalzell, Lucas Scott, Edward Scott, Austin Mizzell and Taylor Knudson. Authorities said they face various assault and breach-of-peace charges.

Sheriff Thomas Summers said the disturbance was tied to the annual Sparkleberry Duck Run and that alcohol was a factor. Deputies also identified numerous cases of underage drinking, he said.

The sheriff’s office said video from the scene showed multiple fights and people crowding around the area. Officials said at least three people were injured, with injuries ranging from swollen eyes to head injuries.

Summers said the investigation remains active and that additional arrests are expected as detectives continue reviewing video and public submissions. The sheriff’s office has not publicly identified what sparked the violence.
